title schedule
This is an overall schedule to help you plan your semester. Each week's tasks will be posted in Blackboard.

Note several things:

  • Weeks run from Wednesday through Tuesday except where noted. This will allow weekend work, which seems effective for many online students. However, do not plan to do all your work on the weekends.
  • You will need to check in and post comments at least twice a week, once early (Wednesday-Saturday) and once later (Sunday-Tuesday).
  • There could be small changes in the schedule. Ample notice will be provided in Blackboard if that should happen.
  • Paper drafts are optional but recommended. Note the due dates.

Week beginning Readings and other assignments

9/2 (Tues.) Orientation and first assignment. Explore Blackboard and this website. Then you have several required tasks and one that is optional.

Required tasks
Deadline: Tuesday midnight (EST), 9/9.

  • Read the Course Information pages, especially the syllabus, carefully. Get your textbooks.
  • Complete the first assignment (attached to the Syllabus), which has several parts.
  • Follow any other instructions that appear in Blackboard.

You have plenty of time to complete these tasks. If you want full points, please be attentive to doing them well and on time.

Note: At the moment, I only have the page numbers for the 7th edition (the purple book), which should be the one most of you have. But the 8th edition is OK, too. If you have the 8th edition (green), please use the index at the back of the book until I can update the page numbers. Thanks!
